uesterday i packed one of my suitcases....mostly of just stuff that was lying around..or thinks i wont wear till summer or something...lol
and now thinking back..i should unpack a few things...i wont need some of those things.

i dont know why..but ive been stressing out about traveling to my katimavik location..i keep thinking that i dont have enough id...eventhough being told otherwise.

but i have high hopes and everything will be fine

oh and MERRY CHRISTMAS, yeah it seems sad but christmas was @ the back of my mind compared to katimavik

so i just got a call from my project leader..she seems really cool..i think well get along just fine

yesterday was my last day of highschool...whoot, im suposted to b there today...but really who is.
i called katimaviks transport manager again about my id and again i was told it shouldent be a problem witht the id i have.

also i fotgot to menchon, the package also includes the departures times and arrivals as well as tour transport schedual, it also comes with the adress of your "katima-house"..as well as info for traveling...stuff i already know...but reading it will help.

so today i got my tickets!!!!
it the electronic tickets..soooo u have to pick them u at the airport

the package also comes with 2 katimavik markers to put on ur baggage and a patch to wear on you while your traveling. also a bunch of flight info, baggage info, and travel info..prettygeneral stuff(mind you ive traveled a lot as a chile so its costomary to em what to do..and the restrictions)

so ya..and tomorrow is my last day of highschool...ya im skipping fri..but who isnt..and i leave in 2 weeks

alright, so for the longest time i was stressing out about the facts that i dotn haveny any legit (goc issued) gov id and i may need it to travel. So ive been ruinning around all over the place to try to get something, anything...my drivers licence, my healthcard...something. To get anything of these thing is not as easy as just walking into the place..apparently u need id to get id...ya stupid huh?

today i called my supervisor (or somehting like that) from katimavik. She had let me know that all i needed is 2 forms of legit gov id, and something with my name and picture....like my student card...so ya..that prettymuch de-stressed me.yay.

os if u do have any questions...CALL your informer...their super nice and will tell u all u need to know, they are very well informed.

so ya...my mom did send the criminal record check...2 days ago i got an e-mail with my offical exceptance. and today i got a copy of my criminal record check from katimavik...i guess they made a copy of it and sent it to me...thats was nice of them...?

i got my criminal record check today...and of course i dont have one...oh and ovbously uber excited!

im really concerned that my criminal record check wont come in time...i should have gotten it by now...still waiting

i had filled out the forms required, and got my mom to write a $20 check...yes it was $20.00 indeed. i also got my proof of criminal record check ( a recept i got from the police station).
gave the envelope to my mom so she could send it off...hopefully she did by now.

later days...

SO just an update...today i got a call from the katimavik office.it was a nice lady. She had just told me mostly what i know: that im not offically accepted due to lack of criminal record check and where im going.
although she did tell me that im goin to fly to Prince Albert, BC (i think its prince albert???). She said that the flight will most likely be in the afternoon. Also, that once im there that their will be a bus waiting for we as well as other participants. i just hope im not the first one there..so ill have someone to talk to.
The woman also told me that from there i as well as the others will embark on a 3 day mass-o (massive orentiation)...from what i hear..this wont be fun, but well see.
So after getting the call, i finished the forms i recieved...now all i need is a chek form my mom for $20.00, then i can send it out.

...still waiting for my criminal record check, hope to get it soon.

i red over the insurance book...its stupid...it just goes over what could happen and how much ur covered...it kinda scared me..but thats ok...lol
the green book..the departure guide is kinda helpful..but prettymuch stuff i already know. One new thing in it says to bring a sleeping bag for the mass-o, i hope this isnt gonna be too bad.

anyways, im still super stoked and i cant wait to leave...50 days left...

OK, so heres the deal.
i had come back to highschool for an extra semester...although i had already graduated and had a diloma, i guess is went back cuz i didnt wanna rush into college/university.
So, upon commin back to school i realised (as well as other that had come back) that it was a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. and besides the fact that my school got a new principle that only cared about football, and their was nothing to do..it was/is SO BORING.
On the bus one day i was thing to myself that since im wasing my time here i might as well do something that isnt a waste of time, and as if out of a movie...i stared at the katimavik poster on the bus. I had always thought i knew waht katimavik was, but i didnt know much. So i check out their website. And it seemed to good to be true. This is because its FREE...everything is paied for by Katimavik.

I came home, went online and filled out a simple online application on their website (www.katimavik.org). Upon doing this i was able ot download -right off the website- the candiates pre-selection forms. There are about 14 forms, 8 medical forms that have to be filled out by myself and my doctor. The forms also require a physical examnation, this put me back $60.00. 2 sheets are the candiated form, i did this...its just a few simple questions...so that u understand the program, i had to read up some thins online to finish these forms. And onr form for your criminal record check which set me back around $45.00 (i think). The other sheats are just stuff for u to read and a checklist before sending out ur things.

So being the eager teemager i am, i had completed everything within 2 weeks. Yet my criminal record check would take 7-8 weeks to get to me! I called the parcipitants office (the number is on the website) and asked them what to do, they had tod me to send them everything i had, so i did (everything minus the criminal recorc check).
Within about a week they had called me telling me that they had recieved my info. And again a week after to comfirm some information, it was wierd cuz they had left a message on the machene, so i called the man back -he asked some questions, and how long the record check would take- and he said that they would call me again. 5 minutes later a different man called me telling me that i had been accepted into the program. I was so excited i blasted music and went reazy in my room-like the thrash moshers- i even blew my speakers...lol. So the man on the phone game me a ladys phone number that i couls reach for any info..this lady was incharge of my group (i have yet to call her).

so far ive been waiting it out for my criminal record check, which should be here in 3-4 weeks. Last night i recieved a thick envlope in the mail from katimavik. In it was a departure guide(and little green book) and an accident insurance book (a bule book). It also came with 3 more forms to fill out: a comfirmation of parcipation form (of course i accepted), a personal property insurance form (this would cost $60, but i dont plan to bring anything too expensive...cept my digital camera..and my georgious good looks), and "your katimavik experience in the news" form...basic info, but also asking if u want to be interviewed b4 u leave...id rather not thinkign about college and writing my exams early is stressfull enough.
The accident insurance will cost $20 or $25..i donno how muck..the form says 20 but the book says 25...guess ill have to call.
But the most important information that came was my destinations! Finally i know where im going! So it is as follows. On Jan 3 i leave for Williams Lake, BC(YAY!), March 26 i leave for Wawa, ON (BOOOO!..i live in ont..this sucks!), and June 11 i leave for Alma, QC (YAY...francis).
So i have filled out the forms..and all i need is for my mom to write a check.


Im SUPER STOKED and cant ait to leave this town!.
